The Fable-Grade Way
Fable-grade is not a fancier prompt. It is a way of working with AI so it gives you a reliable answer instead of a confident guess. Five habits. Learn these and every tool below works better, on any AI you use.
Name the few facts the answer depends on, and check those first.
A wrong fact buried inside a good-sounding answer is the mistake that actually costs you. You do not need to check everything, just the two or three things that would sink the whole answer if they were wrong.
Paste this: Before you answer, list the 2 or 3 facts this depends on and verify those first.
Trust what a tool actually shows over what the AI remembers.
AI memory sounds sure of itself and is often wrong. A real number from a real document is not. When the two disagree, the document wins, every time.
Paste this: Use the document or numbers I gave you, not your memory. If you are not sure, say so instead of guessing.
Make it say which parts are verified and which are guesses.
A guess dressed up as a fact is the most dangerous thing AI hands you, because it reads exactly like the truth. Force it to label the difference and you can trust what is left.
Paste this: Mark each claim as VERIFIED or GUESS. Never state a guess as if it were a fact.
If it matters, make it argue against its own answer.
A smart model will happily rubber-stamp its first idea. The fastest way to find the flaw is to make it attack its own work before you rely on it.
Paste this: Now give me the single strongest reason your answer could be wrong.
Do not move on until it is actually right.
Shipping something that looks like an answer but is not is the real failure. Make it score its own confidence and stop when it is not sure, instead of filling the gap with a guess.
Paste this: Rate your confidence out of 100. Under 95, tell me exactly what is missing instead of guessing.
